Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, has announced plans to sell nearly 5 million Supercenter locations across the United States by 2021.
The company said the move will give the stores greater access to its full inventory.
Walmart Superstore, which will be located in some of the nation’s fastest growing markets, will offer a wide selection of goods including Walmart’s signature products, such as Home Depot and Lowe’s.
The stores will also be able to serve more than a million customers with the use of smart home technology.
Walmart said the Supercentery stores will be open by the end of 2021.

The companies aim to open at least 10 million new stores by 2021, and more than 50 million by 2025.
The announcement comes as the retail giant seeks to regain market share from Amazon, which is expanding its retail footprint, particularly in its Home and Home Improvement brands.
Walmart also is expanding into new markets.
Walmart plans to expand its grocery business to include more than 25 million products, as well as expand into new areas including apparel and home accessories.
The retail giant also plans to launch new food delivery services, like its AmazonFresh program.
